Fat supplies give the energy needed to maintain normal body functions, and forms a protective coat around cells. Unsaturated fats are bad for health. They can be found in food that comes from animals or palm oils. Seniors must have some fat in their diet, but need to be careful of the amount, because too much fat increases the risks of diabetes and different heart diseases.
