Use a 5 or 6 quart slow cooker to combine all of the ingredients. Heats on low for 7 to 8 hours or until the oats are tender and oatmeal is as creamy as preferred.

Chicken and Rice

This hearty slow cook dish is a winter favorite. It’s healthy, easy, and leftovers can be reheated for individuals or feeding a group.


  • 1.5-1.7 lbs Chicken breast
  • 1 (10 ounce) can cream soup (low sodium mushroom or celery)
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 (16 oz) bag of frozen broccoli
  • 1 chicken flavored bullion
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper


For a dinner dish simply combine all of the ingredients in the Crockpot early in the day and cook on low for 8 hours.

Turkey Chili


  • 1 lb 99% lean ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 yellow and/or red pepper, chopped
  • 1 (15 oz) can petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 (15 oz) can whole cut tomatoes
  • 2 (15 oz) cans of tomato sauce
  • 4 (15 oz) cans of beans- could be black beans, red kidney beans or pinto beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 cup frozen corn
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • Black pepper & no sodium sea salt to taste

Toppings options: cilantro, green onions, shredded cheese, Greek yogurt, avocado


First, heat the oil in a skillet using medium heat. Brown the turkey and pour it into a 5-6 quart
slow cooker. Add all of the ingredients and seasoning then cover and cook at high heat for 4 hours or low heat for 6 hours.
